Tira-Olhos – Association of Experimental Photography, is a space where we share different practices and knowledge on how to approach photographic expression, with a focus on experimental, historical and handmade processes, and a particular interest in the investigation of sustainable alternatives.

Located in Penha da França, in Lisbon, Tira-Olhos works in proximity with amateurs, artists and artisans, aiming to promote, disseminate and teach experimental and handmade techniques related to photographic expression.

Over the course of several years – both in their practices as teachers as well as in their individual practices -, the association’s founding associates had been consolidating the desire and need to find a space that would allow them to share their practices.

Currently, the associates are preparing the first edition of LESMA, a slow photography festival, to be held in September 2021, in Lisbon.
